Moira Butterfield writes books which spark children's imaginations and interest in the world around them. Having studied graphics and English Literature, she went on to become a children’s book editor, then a full-time children’s author. Moira was shortlisted for The Children's Wainwright Prize for Non-Fiction in 2025. She lives with her family in Somerset, where she enjoys cycling, exploring the West Country and singing in a community choir. Her ambition is to visit every county in the UK, taking her trusty bicycle along.
Merle Goll grew up in the North of Germany but left the shores of the Baltic Sea after school to spend a year in England. This was almost 30 years ago, and the island has been her home ever since. After studying and working as a graphic and motion designer in Bristol, she now lives in Twickenham with her family, working solely as an illustrator.
