Hilary Wilson has been interested in Egyptology since childhood. She trained as a mathematics teacher at the University of Leicester, while at the same time taking courses in archaeology and medieval history. She has run courses in Egyptology at the University of Southampton and has written several books on the subject, including Egyptian Food and Drink, People of the Pharaohs and Egyptian Woman. She is a staff contributor to Ancient Egypt magazine.
