Michael O’Mara Books is to publish The Daily Mash – Class Wars: A Field Guide to Being British written in partnership with the UK’s leading satirical website, The Daily Mash.

Since 2008, the site’s team of talented writers – most recently led by author and editor-in-chief Tom Whiteley – has provided a daily dose of witty commentary on the latest news and societal trends. This uproarious book promises no less, featuring brand new articles and quizzes alongside some classic Daily Mash material that pokes fun at the quirks and absurdities of British identity.

With over 1 million Facebook followers and a legion of devoted fans, The Daily Mash’s brand of comedy has struck a chord with audiences nationwide. In a country where social class is often a defining feature, the platform fearlessly takes aim at anyone who takes themselves too seriously, regardless of their place in the hierarchy. So, whether you’re a member of the monarchy, a Mail-reading xenophobe, or a supporter of a lower-league football team, this book will deliver laughs aplenty.

The book’s publication will be supported by a strategic digital marketing campaign designed to effectively reach Daily Mash readers and fans of satirical comedy with dynamic, engaging creative and laser-focused targeting across major online platforms including Meta, Reddit and TikTok.

Tom Whiteley, author and editor-in-chief of the Daily Mash said: “Governments come and go, but what really unites Britain is our solid sense of who’s who in the class hierarchy. Drawing on years of satire about the tiny differences that separate us, the Daily Mash’s  team of writers tears apart our nation’s sense of class like an XL bully running wild on a grouse moor. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry laughing and you’ll get new ammunition for an argument with your up-himself brother-in-law.”

Nicki Crossley, Senior Commissioning Editor for Michael O’Mara, said: “The Daily Mash is a comedy institution and we’re delighted to be partnering with them on their razor-sharp guide to the British class system. They have a unique talent for making us laugh at ourselves, and this book promises to be a smart and satirical take on what it means to be British.”

Nicki Crossley acquired World All Language rights direct from Digitalbox who own The Daily Mash.

The Daily Mash – Class Wars: A Field Guide to Being British will publish in hardback 10 October 2024, priced £14.99
