Michael O’Mara Books has acquired Grid to Glory: 75 Milestone Formula One Moments from F1TV and Channel 4’s lead Formula One commentator, Alex Jacques, published to celebrate the 75th anniversary year of the world’s most dramatic sport.

In 75 chapters, Jacques tells the stories behind Formula One’s rise, fall and recovery through the extraordinary moments that have shaped the sport. From a simple misreading of regulations that led to the creation of a monster car, to Lewis Hamilton’s shock move to Ferrari, to Romain Grosjean’s death-defying crash, these and many more iconic stories come together to provide fascinating background on some of the most talked-about incidents in sporting history – as well as featuring stories that have never been heard before. The book includes a foreword by former Formula One driver and commentator David Coulthard.

Written by one of the most authoritative voices in the sport, in Grid to Glory Alex Jacques covers the teams, the drivers, the bosses and the pit crews, capturing all the action in the paddock from his unique viewpoint. He gives the inside scoop on the sport’s big personalities with a true behind-the-scenes glimpse into the glamour, rivalry, death, strategy, technology, business and controversy of Formula One.

An award-winning sports commentator and broadcaster, Alex Jacques is the Formula One lead commentator for Channel 4and F1TV and the voice of all F1 digital output. Alex also appears on the smash-hit Netflix series Drive to Survive and was crowned Sports Broadcaster of the Year in 2022.
